Choosing Our Charities
The Telford Tree of Light is a charity jointly administered and supported by the four Telford Rotary Clubs. It has been running for over 30 years and to date has raised over £875,000 for over 60 local charities. All the donations received are allocated to the chosen charities for the annual campaign each year at a presentation event.

For over 30 years Severn Hospice has been the region’s leading provider of specialist palliative and end of life care. As one of the busiest hospices in the UK our mission is to provide the best care and a better life for people living with an incurable illness, and those important to them. The loving care we provide goes beyond the four walls of our buildings as we care for more patients than ever before in the comfort of their own home.
All of the care we provide at Severn Hospice is free of charge, but not without cost. It is thanks to the unwavering support of the people of Shropshire and Mid Wales that our caring teams are able to be there when it matters most for those who need our help. We are immensely proud and grateful for the long relationship between our hospice and the Rotary Clubs in the area. Their commitment and dedication to raising funds for charities like our hospice is truly admirable.

Hope House Children’s Hospices provide care and support to life-limited children and young people from Shropshire, Cheshire, North and Mid Wales. We’re here to help them enjoy the best possible quality of life, both emotionally and practically. We’re here 365 days a year for their parents and families too, who can often find it hard to cope and feel isolated. We’re here throughout the lifetime of their child – and often well beyond – with specialist nursing care, counselling support, empathy and understanding. Our dedicated teams work at our two hospices, Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith, in the family’s own home and within local communities.
Hope House Children’s Hospices
The branch is run entirely by volunteers and aims to provide the best possible support to local people with MND, their families, and carers.
WMSAR is an entirely voluntary charity that exists to raise the money to operate a Lowland Search and Rescue Team “to search for, locate and bring to a place of safety, missing vulnerable people”.
We respond in support of the Police but also the Fire and Rescue and Ambulance Services and the Council run Resilience Forums.
Our operational area covers 6,500 square miles, across West Mercia with 1.2 million people in 3 counties that have the River Severn at their heart.
It’s not just water based. We cover emergency incidents, on land as well as supporting neighbouring teams as required. We are called out by the emergency services when someone is in dire need of specialist help. More often than not the call is for a vulnerable person at much higher risk than normal. Mental Illness, Dementia, Suicide Risk and Vulnerable Young Children are typical of the cases we deal with.
